1. Every document has a unique record
When an organisation registers a document here, the system stores its number, type, parties, issue date and expiry date, and generates two things the holder can check later: a 6 character verification code and a QR code.
The QR code contains nothing but an unguessable link to this portal. It carries no personal data, and it cannot be used to reach the administrative area.
2. The status is calculated when you check
The result is never stored. Every time somebody checks a document, the system looks at whether it has been revoked and compares today's date with its expiry date. A document therefore changes state on its own once it expires - no one has to update anything.
- Valid - inside its validity period and not revoked.
- Expired - the date on the document is in the past.
- Revoked - the issuer cancelled it, for example after a correction.
- Not found - no record matches. Withdrawn records look identical to unknown ones.
3. What a result proves
A "valid" result means the details you supplied match a current record held by UPNET Pvt. Ltd.. It does not certify the authenticity of the underlying signature, and it does not guarantee that the document was issued lawfully.
If a result matters for a legal or financial decision, request a written confirmation directly from the issuer.
4. Privacy
Each check stores the outcome, the time and a truncated network address so the issuer can investigate abuse. Administrators can switch address and browser logging off from the settings screen; the same page then records anonymous counters only.
5. Troubleshooting
The QR code will not scan
Make sure the whole code is inside the frame, the page is held steady and the screen is bright enough. If it still fails, use the manual form with the document number, verification code and issue date.
The manual form says "not verified"
All three fields must match exactly, including any leading zeros in the verification code and the full document number. Check the date format shown on the document.
A document I hold is reported as expired
Verify the issue date you entered. If everything matches but the result looks wrong, contact the issuer using the details on this page.
